How we communicate with the herd:

  • Earning Trust: If you’d like a visit, simply hold out a snack. This is their way of saying 'hello.'

  • The 'Nibble' Rule: Goats only have bottom teeth! They use their soft lips to explore, followed by a lick and a gentle nibble. It’s just their way of tasting the moment, but please be mindful of your fingers.

  • Where They Love Love: Our herd isn't much for jumping on backs these days; they prefer grounded connection. They love being petted on their necks and backs. If they move away, simply honor that space and return to your breath.

  • Belongings: Because they love to taste everything, please keep personal items in the designated cubbies. We want them focused on your energy, not your car keys!

Maintaining a Harmonious Space:

  • Mutual Connection: Goats have a small blind spot directly behind them. To connect, try to catch their eye from the side or front first.

  • Gentle Hands: They love a good scratch on the chest or neck (spots they can’t reach themselves!). Please avoid pulling on their horns, tails, or legs. They also love cheek and chin rubs. Note: If you scratch their heads, they may shift their horns to help you get the 'sweet spot,' so it’s often safer to stick to the neck and cheeks.

  • Playful Adaptability: Goats have no 'ego.' They might decide your mat is the perfect nap spot. If they engage with you and you’re comfortable, enjoy it! If you’d prefer space, gently push them away or wave me over for help.

  • Safety: Please keep in mind they can accidentally step on you and are surprisingly heavy. If you ever feel unsafe, just ask for assistance.

  • Embracing Nature: Because we are in a living ecosystem, 'nature' sometimes happens! If a goat leaves a little blessing on your mat, don't be embarrassed—just raise your hand. Our 'Poop Patrol' is ready to handle it quickly so you can stay in your flow.

Meet our Yoga goats

Ahava (The Survivor)

Her name means 'love’ in Hebrew and she lives up to that name. A founding member of our herd she came to live with us in May of 2023, Ahava survived an emergency C-section and lost her kid and then survive the long recovery. Those nights I spent together with her in the barn created an incredible bond. She is feisty, independent, and a bit stubborn, but her heart is wide open.

  • Note: She has a horn injury from a recent encounter with our resident ram. It’s healing well, but the edge is a little sharp—be mindful during the ear scratches she loves!

Poppy (the gentle flower) Born Sep 29 2024 (sibling to Willow and Vinnie)

Poppy is a gentle shy goat. She has a sweet gentle standoffish personality. If you connect with her she will be your friend for life

The Connection- Approach slowly from the front or side. Slowly move your hand toward her to pet her. If she allows you to pet her then she loves scratched on her face, chin, neck, and back

Willow (The Peacemaker) Born Sep 29 2024

Willow is the definition of calm. As a wether (a neutered male), he is the master of the quiet approach. He won't yell for attention; he’ll simply stand patiently by your side waiting for a slow back scratch.

  • The Connection: He is incredibly affectionate and even enjoys nose kisses! While he isn’t a finger-nibbler, he does have a 'fashion sense' and might take a taste of a t-shirt or yoga strap.

Vinnie / Vincent van Goat (The Lover) Born Sept 29 2924

Short for Vincent van Goat, Vinnie is our resident "Lover." He is. Wether also. He is tiny, full of energy, and acts more like a puppy than a goat! He’s known for jumping up to say hello and affectionately rubbing his horns against you.

  • The Connection: Vinnie is pure, unbridled affection. He loves nose-kisses and might even offer a little "lip-nibble" on your nose if you let him get close enough! If his enthusiasm ever feels like too much, feel free to gently push him away or let us know.

Francesca (The Gentle Fighter) Born March 5 2024

Born in March 2024 as the smallest of three, Francesca is a true fighter. After a tough start where she had to stand her ground against her brothers, she grew into an independent and sweet spirit. She also manages a thiamine deficiency with regular supplements to keep her feeling her best.

  • The Connection: Francesca is a crowd favorite because of her gentle soul. You might notice she is a little shy about hands near her neck—this is simply because she associates that area with her medicine shots. The best way to win her heart is through her stomach; she loves her snacks and will gladly spend time with you for a treat.

Kiki / Kichona (The Precious one) Born April 19 2025

Kichona means 'precious' in Japanese. She has such beautiful coloring and she has grown into our resident fireball. She is pure energy: she loves to run, jump, and is definitely the loudest voice in the pasture!

  • The Connection: Kiki is highly food-motivated! She may put her front legs on you to get a better look at your snacks. She is clear about her boundaries—if she turns her head quickly with a little, she’s asking for a little space.
